What command are you using to start the install, and what is the result? Is there a message? If so, quote it exactly. setup. a message saying it can't find specfic files from this particular drive. |

set up problem with cd/dvd drive

See the following about Plextor blink codes. http://www.plextor.com/english/support/faqs/HW00018.htm Ben it blinks twice. suggest auto-adjustment failure. problem with this, is that I know it works fine under OS/2. If it's D, then this indicates the hard drive is not being recognised, perhaps because it's not partitioned correctly. You will need to fix the drive or fix the partitioning. If it's seeing it as something greater then E then this indicates you have more than one partition in the hard drive. In that case, there's no problem - just modify the commands you are using to start the installation to use the actual drive letter of the CD instead of E:. the drive is on C:, the ram drive is D:, E: was supposed to be cd/dvd drive. I think it is seeing it, but its not reading. the drive light is blinking amber. the plextor cd/dvd drive did read the cd disc just that one time during the install, since then it won't read the disc after one of the installation steps (it'd say it can't find one of those *.cab files) nor can setup be accessed after booting. |

set up problem with cd/dvd drive
Create a subdirectory on the hard drive, copy the contents of the
Win98 folder to it and run setup from the hard drive. mkdir c:\win98 copy e:\win98\*.* c:\win98 c:\win98\setup Ben "dilbert firestorm" wrote in message ...
