Setting internet parameters

When I change the connection settings on the internet options menu, they
revert to old (default?) values when I reboot. Is there some way to make the
parameters I set stay that way?. I seem to recall a button that does this
but I cant find it.

It sounds like you may be running something in the background that is
interfering with your ability to save the settings. Try using Msconfig to
boot without anything extra loading at startup and then see if your settings
stick. Once you have done this, you can re-enable the startup group items
that you disabled. See this article for more information.
