Default setting up a "killfile"

Hi all Gurus out there

Have seen references to killfiling a spammer/troll or other idiots. I use
Outlook Express 6 with ntl as my isp and news.cable.ntlworld.com as my only
news reader. Apart from specifically blocking an address, the other
filtering options available under Message Rules seem completely ineffective.

How can I set up an effective killfile or is this option not available to
ntl customers?

A common mistake that people made when trying to design something completely
foolproof was to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Try using self control and ignoring them.

Alias

Use the Reply to Sender feature of your news reader program to email me.
Utiliza Responder al Remitente para mandarme un mail.

This is precisely what is meant by most users when they say they have
added someone to their "kill file". In other words the blocking of
various senders by their mail and news clients.

This rather depends on what you are trying to do. For example OE's rules
cannot be used to block IP blocks. Mail clients other than OE may be able
to do this.

Your ISP has little or nothing to do with this other than that some may
kill some spam and/or mail containing viruses and others flag possible
spam either by an addition to the message headers or the addition of the
word SPAM or the characters [?] where ? is a number to the subject of a
message.
