Default convert .txt to .reg

Having a tough time converting a .txt to .reg in Notepad.

Ive tried to rename, however, file is still a .txt in properties.

Ive tried to save as, however, only have the two options; txt or all.

What can I do to ensure when I double click this file it will save to the
registry.

Thanks

Sean,

Open the .txt file, click File, Save as, in the " Save as type " window
choose All files. For file name, pick a name and add .reg to the end.

EX: pickaname.reg

Click the Save button.
