Default How to get an upgrade from Windows ME to XP Home Edition

I bought a software for the Windows XP Home edition. I
wanted to upgrade from Win ME to the XP. Half way through
the installment, it corrupted my ME files and would not
finish the installation.

Where can I go to get an upgrade from the ME to XP? Should
I request a new software for the XP as an upgrade from
Microsoft? I have looked all over the Microsoft web site
for answers and cannot seem to find one that fits my
problem.

Please give me some help. I sure would appreciate. I need
this to be able to install a Office 10 software I need for
my home business. Thank you.

Firstly Office 10 (aka Office 2002 or Office XP) does not require the XP
operating system unlike Office 2003.

All Microsoft XP CDs, both full and the cheaper upgrade versions) can upgrade
Win Me to XP (Home or Pro) and also clean install XP. This is not the case
for OEM CDs which can only be used to clean install XP on the hardware with
which the CD was purchased and therefore cannot be used to upgrade an existing
system

See http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/h...ing/matrix.asp for
details of which systems can be upgraded.
