Please: Internet connection severed by "invalid page fault in module MSJAVA. DL
For days now a few moments after connecting to the
internet, I get the message: "WAOL caused an invalid page fault in module MSJAVA.DLL at 017f:7a9a8935". Registers: EAX = OcOdbee 8 CS = 17f EIP=89357a9a EFLGS=00010202 and whole page of similar numbers which I can supply if needed. Note: This may be significant - On 4/27 I received an e- mail message from a friend saying that a virus (called jdbg.exe)had been passed to her address book and was infecting anyone in her address book. The message included instructions for checking for the virus and removing it. They we 1. Go to Start, then click on the find or search option. 2. In the folder option, type the name: jdbgmgr.exe The virus has a Teddy bear icon. Then there were instructions to delete it. I did delete it when I saw the dreaded Teddy bear icon. The next day I heard that the virus was bogus, and had something to do with Java so now when I get this "invalid page fault in module MSJAVA.DLL at 117f:7a9a8935", I can't help but wonder if there is some connection. Have I deleted a necessary file?? If you have any knowledge about what I need to do, PLEASE, please, please share it with me. I am in bad shape getting bumped off the internet, especially at this time. |

If I remember previous discussions correctly, jdbgmgr.exe is definitely NOT a virus, and deleting it is almost certainly the cause of your problems. I'm not sure how to repair your Windows installation, but a search of this newsgroup or microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion or a Google search for "jdbgmgr.exe" should provide you with instrctions on how to fix up your system. Good luck - Alan |

It is on my machine and all I use is Win98-SE
it is in cab-34. It is on your win98 se disk. Try start, run, sfc, extract one file from installation disk, type in the file, start, install from-direct it to your cd untill you are on this cab file, click start, save file in, type in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM, ok, it is up to you if you want to back it up I do not. Hope this helps. -----Original Message----- For days now a few moments after connecting to the internet, I get the message: "WAOL caused an invalid page fault in module MSJAVA.DLL at 017f:7a9a8935".
