Default Lost connection

I play online bingo and find that after a short time sometimes only 40mins my
connection just dies even though it shows me as still being connected.

I've tried countless times to empty tem internet files but this doesnt seem
to work. I have a feeling my computer may be too old to run the software
they are using. I have an antique P3 450 with 128 ram. The software is
macromedia based. I can play at yahoo for hours with no problems but these
sites just dont like my computer. Is there anything (apart from updating)
that I can do?

Thanks in advance.

My Win 98SE machine PII 350 Mhz machine on Road Runner Broadband was working OK
until a T-Storm rolled through last Friday and now everything is going slower
than a 2800 baud modem. If it is very low signal level caused by precipitation,
that is one thing; but I've been seeing a lot of posts in these M$ groups about
steps being taken to counteract this type of slowdown and disconnection. I think
this may be a pervasive outbreak of an outrageously slow connection speed virus
or spyware registry hack. This may be my last post before my modem quits for the
hour. I can't even finish loading up the Google homepage! I've run AdAware 1.05
& 1.06. I ran an AV scan on my System drive and found no virus with the Panda AV
updated. I've deleted the 180 Search Toolbar twice in 2 days. I've cleaned out
the TIF folders manually at great inconvenience. The Road Runner people are
coming tomorrow to check my connection. I live in an apartement; so if the
inside wiring has gone bad, how am I gonna convince the landlord to replace the
RG-59 cable in the wall with RG-6 cable especially when the inside wiring is
"inaccessible". I may have no TV or internet after tomorrow because of this
total abdication of authority around me. The Time Warner people can't tell my
landlord to do anything, and I can't tell my landlord to do anything, and the
landlord wouldn't do anything anyway. There are large and growing potholes in
the long driveway that are being neglected. I hear a cab driver called the
landlord to complain and got nowhere.

Well, here goes the Send Button. Hope it gets there on this Send.

BTW, my TV signals suck too. A lot of snowy cable TV shows above channel 50.
Channel 77 is as high I as I go here, until 12-31-2008.

failed and I had to reboot!

OE6 says I have Low Memory or Low Disk Space and it won't show the next message.
Maybe Homeland Security is locking down our internet speeds? The less I type,
the more likely my message will get sent the first time.

OK, I found out how to clear the Content.IE5 folder with the Work Offline
checkbox while deleting files in Internet Options within Control Panel.
And after that there was the Windows Critical Update KB837009, and I downloaded
that. Suddenly, my machine seems to be working back at normal for a few minutes.
I hope the good connections lasts...or should I really hope at all? Should I
call off the Road Runner Tech guys tomorrow? Was all that I needed, the above
written instructions and a timely Windows Update? Nah, I can get a Free Signal
Testing from them. The appointment stays ON.

This is from the United States but it looks German or something.

That's the purpose of the "DE" - Deutsch or German,

To see the same KB in English use either:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=kb;us;837009
or
http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=kb;en;837009
or better
http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=837009
where the language will be your default system language.
