Default Can't connect a win 98se computer to wireless network

Hi,

I have a network setup in my house, all the xp computers can connect to
the network, however, the computer with windows 98se is getting a 35
percent signal, it is being assigned an ip address, now under status it
just says "associated", also, when I tried to ping the router I get
"destination host unreachable", we've tried multiple pci cards as well,
does anyone have any ideas?
