Default How can I make 2 hard drives act like one

Hello.
I have 2 hard drives..Is there anyway to make them act like and appear as one drive. I want to see 20GB of space instead of 10 & 10. Each one at this time have win98se installed. I am willing to reformat the d drive, as its just sitting there. The D drive has some bad sectors on the surface area and has a problem when I try to use it as main drive. The last block in it is bad. so it wont do a scan disk correctly. It says it cant read from last block. I just want 20GBs instead of 2 10's

Thanks
Pup

You can't with Win9x/ME.

It sounds like that D drive is not long for this world.
You can FDISK and reformat, and the current bad sectors
will be marked off-limits, but that would be as effective
as painting rusty metal.

If you wish to use it until it dies completely,
make sure that you have everything backed up.

A new 120GB can be purchased for less than US$50,
so smaller drives will be [should be?] less.

You can use a hardware raidcontroller. But it's cheaper to buy a 20G disk.

I don't believe you have two hard drives--it sounds like you have one hard
drive and it contains two partitions. Am I correct? If so, your drive is
on the road to failure and you need to replace it.

If you have two hard drives, you cannot combine the partitions. If you have
two partitions on one drive, you can combine them but you need a
partitioning program (see what I use below) to do so. If you want to use
W98 tools, you use fdisk to remove both partitions (all data lost) and
create one new partition.

BootIt Next Generation is available from: http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/
and it does partitioning, makes a compressed image, does many other
partitioning chores and is a boot manager. It is not quite as easy to use
as Partition Magic but it is half the cost and has more features. Unlike
the crippled PMagic demo, BING is a *full function* demo you can try for
FREE for 30 days. The web site has a lot of support articles.
