Default Reg patch for U.S. Daylight Saving Time changes?

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Does anyone know if a registry patch is available yet *for
Windows 98* for the 2007 Daylight Saving Time changes for the
United States?

I've googled it, checked the MS website, etc. and can't find a
patch for Win98. Fwiw, I expect patches to be written by
panicked folks about 10 minutes after the change goes into
effect on March 11, 2007, hahaha.

Note: I'm looking for a *patch*. I know I can do it manually
using tzedit and the info on MS's site, but I don't want to
take a chance and screw it up. Rather leave it up to the
technical experts. ;-)

If a patch is not already offered for Windows 98/98SE, then it won't be
offered. Support has ended for those systems. The way to do it is manually,
using TZEDIT.EXE. It's really quite straight forward. Just run it, select
your time zone, click Edit, and change the values to have daylight savings
time start on the second Sunday in March, and end on the first Sunday in
November. Those values are the only ones that need changing.

I just used Google to find one that works, s. Not sure there's much if any
difference in the versions.

Will (or has) MS pushed out a hotfix or update for XP that will
automatically perform this time-zone change - or do they expect

The following is from the above MS page, near the bottom:

******************************

MORE INFORMATION
An update is scheduled to be released for Windows Server 2003,
Windows XP, and Windows Vista in November, 2006.

Note This update will not be released until November, 2006
because the clock does not change at the correct time and date
for current daylight saving time.

******************************

It's only the users of unsupported MS systems -- like those of
us still using Win98 -- that have to do it manually.

Do like I did, move to Arizona and you don't have daylight saving time.

MS has a tendency to make instructions nearly unreadable. Thanks for reminding me I
have to do this on my Win98 systems here and at work. I had totally forgotten about
the date changes (and I'm not too happy about it either....I hate waking up in the
dark).
BTW, I love your web site, and got a real kick out of your birthday quest! ;-)
