Default Multiple Users on Win 98?

Hi! I am using Win98 and I am setting up multiple users
for this computer. I have managed to assign user names
and passwords, however, I'd like to know if I can
customize further than that. Namely, I'd like to know if
and how I can restrict certain users from downloading new
programs, deleting files and etc. I'd like to have one
main user with access to hte C Drive and Program Files,
etc., and restrict the other users from having access to
these.

Any help you can give would be great, thanks!!

Use the Policy Editor (poledit.exe)...it is available on the Windows CD.

To install it, use the Add/Remove Programs option in Control Panel, select the
Windows Setup tab, click the Have Disk button, and install from the
TOOLS\RESKIT\NETADMIN\POLEDIT directory located on the CD.

You are trying to make an insecure system into a secure one--good luck. You
can try the policy editor and there are third party programs available that
may help.

To install System Policy Editor (poledit.exe), go to Control Panel,
Add/Remove Programs, click the Windows Setup tab and click Have Disk. In
the Install From box, click Browse and browse to the
Tools\Reskit\Netadmin\Poledit folder on the W98 CD. Highlight poledit.inf
and click OK twice. In the Have Disk screen, check the System Policy Editor
box and click Install.
