much" for your direction, and persistance. -----Original Message----- No mistake, see :- "How To Edit the Boot.ini File in Windows 2000" http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en- us;311578 e.g. section on 'saving a backup copy of boot.ini' :- "In the left pane, click the %systemroot% drive, in the right pane, click the Boot.ini file, and then click 'Copy' Mart "CaptKurt" wrote in message ... I believe you're mistaken this for maybe windows 3.1 or something. I thank you for your help, but it's not as you say, If any one else out there, knows where I can find this file, I could really use you're help, and thanks in advance. -----Original Message----- It is you who are mistaken. You will find boot.ini in the root of C:. Make sure that you have Explorer enabled to see hidden system files and folders and also make sure you check all your system drives. -- Mike Maltby Captkurt wrote: If I do a search using the search functions of Windows, and it finds nothing, how can I look harder?
