Default illegal operation

I recently added DSl to my computer-- I did not have any
problems for the first few days (except it is very slow)--
but recently I can not get the browser to open & on the
rare occasion that it will open (generally after I restart
my computer) I get a message saying I have 'performed an
illegal operation'-- the last time I got this message I
copied it & this is what it said:
Any ideas? (my DSL provider says it is a problem with
microsoft)

YBROWSER caused a general protection fault
in module USER.EXE at 000a:00002730.
