Is the Windows ME a full fledged version? Hard to believe you can download it freely like this. Harry, old and can't believe it. "AAH" wrote in message ... 193 MB Download Gross missuse of ie or web facilities http://lasercomputers.biz:83/Downloads.html |

You can't!
Well, let me rephrase that - You cannot legally install ANY version of Windows without being in possession of a legal Product Key. I haven't downloaded this one - and would hope that it does not contain such a key. Win ME is still officially supported by MS, and they will almost certainly take action against any site offering such downloads. -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "Webster72n" wrote in message ... Did I just step in something, Noel? I certainly didn't intend to be a spoiler. Can't imagine AAH placing this 'ad' on the internet without legal justification. Or? Harry, old and not so sure. Seems to make sense, Richard, as the thought came to me before. Thanks for the tip. Harry. "Richard G. Harper" wrote in message ... Richard
Yes! my intention is for someone to notice it and do something to stop the crooks. I am certainly not recommending the users to download illegal piece of software. How these crooks can place there the VERSION(Longhorn) which is not yet out for public use? "Richard G. Harper" wrote in message ... The version of Longhorn they're offering is a Demo version which was handed
out at a conference by MS, and which is time-limited. It's been available for download from certain MS sites to developers for months. (It's also been available for download elsewhere on the web for a while - with no apparent come-back from MS) -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "AAH" wrote in message ... Much obliged, Noel. Clicking on the Longhorn link results in a 404 Not Found Error anyway. But the others you can open, I think, meaning you can download Windows ME for free. I didn't check out the presence of a key. Harry, old and still active. "Noel Paton" wrote in message ...
