Default CD-ROM problem

I asked about a problem with my CD-ROM a few few minutes
ago and got a response, before I do it I want to know if I
just delete the entire item in the device manager and how
do I reboot? Thanks
Here is what I and the replier wrote:

When I Insert a CD program in my CD-ROM, my computer

Manager and there is an yellow circle with an exclamation
point next to where it says:
"Mitsumi CD-ROM controller with double speed drive".
When I click it it say:
"not present, not working properly, or does not have all
the drivers installed"
It has the exclamation point and states the same problem
where is says "IDE Primary controller", "IDE secondary
controller" and "Standard Floppy Disc Controller":
I have Windows 98, what did I do to my computer and how
can I fix this?

Remove all the items with the ! and then reboot and let
Windows redetect
them.

Normally, this is done in safe mode. Leave the primary ide controller for
last. You may have more than one instance of each. Reboot method is on the
start menu.

Am not sure though about the fix though. That is, Mitsumi CD ROM
controller, in windows terms, implies a separate controller card. Not sure
if windows 98 has drivers for such.

I wondered about that as well; however, I had a Mitsumi drive and it did not
have a separate controller card.
