More information please such as exactly what you see on the screen when you
switch on your PC and it starts to boot. Also, what changes if any but
however trivial did you make to the system when you last booted. Did you
notice anything "odd" when you last shut down the system?

Computer isn't a fire hydrant so don't lift paw. Seriously, if you're still
having the problem, answer Mike's questions and help is on the way.

I would burn a small linux live cd like u-lite

http://download.tuxfamily.org/ubuntu..._0.8_beta2.iso

If you don't have highspeed internet or a cd burner, see if you can get
help from a friend or a public computer.

I would boot into it, and open the file manager, in this case it pcmanfm,
under Applications/System Tools

click the windows partition labled */vfat to mount it. Then start
uploading you critical files to a online host link freshdownload or
badongo.

Then I would reinstall windownme, which is no longer supported by
microsoft, or install u-lite linux which is easy to use and very much
supported by the creators, take your pick.
