Default windows protection error

Click start-settings-control panel, double click System,
click 'device manager' tab and see if any little icons
have a yellow circle with a black '!' in. if not, boot to
DOS (press F8 when 'starting windows 98' appears just
after your pc turns on) and run scanreg.
