Window in Danish (?)
That's one of the advantages of installing to a new folder--none of the data
has to be "blown away" until such time the new system is fully functional. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "phorbin" wrote in message ... In article , says... When you reinstall the system, the system files will then be in the new folder and the old system files in the Windows folder will no longer be needed nor used. I'm assuming you use Win98 Don't blow away the "Application Data" folder in your current Windows folder prematurely. If you use any of the Mozilla applications. Window in Danish (?)
Note: When you install into a new folder, most of the programs installed in the copy
of Windows you were using in the old folder will no longer work, and will have to be reinstalled also. Have you first tried uninstalling the ieSpell program you think may have been responsible? -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Candy" wrote in message ... O.K. then. If files that Windows98 needs to operate are still in the old windows folder, how will they know how to communicate with each other? I'm just trying to understand what I will be doing before I do it. Don't want to screw up my computer any worse. Thanks. Candy --------- "Ron Badour" wrote in message ... The system files are contained in the Windows folder. If you install the system to (say) Win98, the system will then operate out of that folder and not the Windows folder where the problem resides. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "Candy" wrote in message ... I don't mean to be picky, but how would installing Windows into a new folder help? Would not the "problem" still exist? I'm just trying to understand. Candy --------- |
