Default TZEDIT - not working

Running Win98se -
I downloaded the TZEDIT file from the MS website,
to update the time zone info for the upcoming DST changes.
Ran it & unzip'd to a temp sub-dir.
Clicked on the EXE - and nothing happened ????
Any ideas ?

Same thing happened to me with the download so I went
to the Win98 disk and used the copy from there. It worked
fine. Good luck!

Try downloading a fresh copy. If this doesn't help, please repost
with more information, including the application being used for
downloading.

Maybe try getting it from the FTP site that Fredericks was so successful
to find...
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/services/tec...Reskit/CONFIG/

Here is what I got from there, & it works well...

TZEdit.exe
Desc: Time Zone Editor Utility
Loc: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
Size: 41,984 bytes
Mod: Friday, May 15, 1998 10:01:08 PM
Ver: 1.0.01

The FTP site is where I got it also, and it worked fine on three machines at work.

At first, I took one from elsewhere, but, after Fredericks found that
FTP with a thousand clicks with no clothes on, I replaced mine from
there. Both did work.

Thanks or Good Luck,
There may be humor in this post, and,
Naturally, you will not sue,
Should things get worse after this,

tnx - it works -

the MS download version is - 12/2/99 - with a version of 5.00.1774.1
and does NOT work on our Win98se

the "other" is -12/2/99 - with a version of 96.05.26
and it appears to have come from the "power toys"
and DOES work on our Win98se

Looks like you had a version suitable for an irradiated OS. With the
possible exception of Mod Date, what you have now should look exactly as
I reported earlier. Now, I see Mod Date from the FTP site is... Friday,
April 03, 1998.

But, I'm glad it now works.
