All there is, is that Outlook Express, and Thunderbird too, recognizes a few text-sequences as emoticons and replaces them with internal icons-graphics for the users (benefit?). Outlook Express does not convert text emoticons to graphics. Not that I've
ever seen, anyway. Only thing I can think of is if the original was composed in HTML and the option to "Read all messages in PT" is disabled. The behavior when reading in PT *does* suggest an attached graphic or link, but you're right, your message source doesn't show any such thing. On the other hand, if there was anything like Incredimail ever installed on the system, then all bets are off. -- Gary S. Looks like they credit threepeat to Pat Riley. OK. Privatization of English no less offensive however. hmmm...."Privatization of English". You know, that has a ring to it..... |

Like you don't use Thunderbird, i don't use Outlook Express, and only based on how things were described made a leap of faith that it worked similarly in the two. Seemed probable, but was an ASSumtion then. Only thing I can think of is if the original was composed in HTML and the option to "Read all messages in PT" is disabled.
