phishing on this web page?
Today10/6/05:
There are 4 columns instead of 3. 'Two' community group columns and a shrunken question column. What gives? The page kept freezing also. There was also more than necessary 'sign in' requests. -- mejp |

Am presently attempting to set up in OE. With limited computer knowledge, it
is difficult. Have progressed to selecting a newsgroup---'Microsoft.public.Win98'. Am trying to obtain a digital identification? Forgive my hesitation but, I have a link-clicking phobia. Until I learn more about internetting, I do not, unless absolutely necessary, click on links. Am very adventurous, but do not like viruses, trojans, adware, spyware, and paying Microsoft to reload my Win98 system. Thank you for your advice, though! -- mejp "PCR" wrote: Why not connect directly to this NG...?... http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/resou...tm#setupmsnews Manual Instructions to connect http://users.westelcom.com/rogersr/setupoe.htm Read this about it too http://www.dts-l.org/ This too To connect directly to this site,-- maybe read those first--, then copy the following into your browser's Address Bar. It's good to be wary of URLs. But...
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...gen_discussion ....is really OK. It will set up this NG (microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion) in the newsreader Outlook Express. It will appear in your left pane under the server msnews.microsoft.com which also will be automatically provided, if not already there. Could be, as AlmostBob says, it will also work for other newsreaders. Shouldn't hurt to try. After it is there in OE's left pane, click the server (or "OE, Tools menu, Synchronize") to Synchronize (read in) messages. They will be stored in a folder on your hard drive. Click the NG under the server in OE's left pane to access the posts online or offline. Those URLs I posted better be good. They were MVP supplied right here. If they are no good, nothing here is. BUT, that doesn't mean EVERYTHING posted in this NG is safe to click or do. NO! You're right to be wary! Anyone can post here! Anyway, try OE's HELP menu, if you think these MVPs are mad or corrupted or XP-poisoned! -- Thanks or Good Luck, There may be humor in this post, and, Naturally, you will not sue, should things get worse after this, PCR "winner5+63" wrote in message ... | Am presently attempting to set up in OE. You are welcome. Glad to hear it. I'm not an MVP, though-- just a PCR!

Mary,
Are you still using a valid email address? Why? If that is not your own email address, it could easily be someone else's. You want one that is totally fake, as we've described before. -- Gary S.
