Default sound device

I had a problem with my computer when i tried to do
windows update, and I lost everything even my dsl and now
I have it back, I have no volume. It tells me that thr is
no sound device installed. Could you please help me or
refer me for help.

Try this
Boot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager
Remove ALL Sound and Multimedia Devices
Remove ALL error-flagged devices
Remove ALL entries in the 'Other Devices' branch - if present
Reboot to Normal Mode
Windows will reinstall appropriate drivers.
