Default BIOS

Ive recently seen under system properties, performance, file system under
Floppy Disk that each time the computer starts it searchs for new floopy
drive.

Ive tried to stop this with no luck.

This laptop doesnt have a floppy drive.

Is there a way to complete this within the BIOS or ensure that Windows stops
looking under that feature.

Thanks

Also, is there a "quick" boot for me? Ive noticed a friend using a quick
boot on his xp machine.

The checkbox for enabling "Seek new floppy disk at each startup" is at
System/Performance/, button = File System, tab = Floppy Drive, as you
appear to have described. Try removing the floppy device as one of he
installed devices, also, in the BIOS.

The "Quick Boot", or "Fast Boot" option is on one of the BIOS setup pages,
if available.

No floppy drive established and where are these setup pages located or
identified in the BIOS?

They are usually on pages 1-3, in my experience.
