Spybot S&D updates???
Amen to that Mart!!
Top posting is so much easier than scrolling through things you have already looked at - and there are some very long narratives..... I also use OE and it is not a big deal to look at the posts up above, if needed. Ed ---------------------------------------- "Mart" wrote in message ... HL wrote :- BTW, did you notice the bottom posts? Rather strange for me! Good for you HL, but H replied :- They are doing it in other NG's Doesn't mean to say they are right (or wrong) though Harry. For many years, top posting has long been the convention (for the very many well argued and documented reasons) in the WinMe NG's. FWIW - I'm sticking to top posting - I (try to) follow threads from their start and can't be doing with having to scroll and wade thru' stuff that I've already ready read to get to the end for the next instalment. If I need a reminder, I just look at the top of the previous post. Seems to be so logical. Maybe because I use OE. Bottom postings are for the lazy (or latecomers, who should still be able to follow top postings) I feel a lot better for that. Mart "webster72n" wrote in message ... "Heirloom" wrote in message ... Heirloom, old and didn't know it might not He probably was thinking of Ad-Aware, H, because it works just fine with WinME. But one must not forget to immunize, before and after downloading definitions and before a scan. Harry. Good point, Harry. After an update, it is just an 'automatic' thing for me to immunize and then hit 'check again' just to be sure. I'm kinda like 'ct' in one of the other threads, in that, I have never had Adaware or Spybot find anything. Of course, I attribute that to having the router and the 'protection' apps.........none of which are worth anything if not kept up-to-date and used on a regular basis. I'm preaching to the choir, I know, but, I have seen waaaay too many folks get a new computer and jump right on the Net before setting up an AV, firewall, etc. and then wonder why they have problems. There are those that should NOT have a computer, at least, not without constant supervision, g. Heirloom, old and probably needs supervision BTW, did you notice the bottom posts? Rather strange for me! They are doing it in other NG's and I am not offended by it as much as Shane is, but 'strange'? Yes. Maybe this will 'iron it out'! Could use a little 'supervision' myself. Harry. |

When you're scrolling by using the touchpad on a notebook computer, reading
bottom posts is a PITA. -- _ct_ Ed Meza wrote: Amen to that Mart!! Spybot S&D updates???
Truth be known, top posting is my preference, as well. If a body is
following a thread, it makes no sense to have to wade through the whole thing to get to the latest entry. Like Mart and Ed, if I happened to miss something, it ain't no big deal to peek at a previous post or scroll down a little, if needed. One thing for sure, the Me NG has never really subcribed to convention (the main reason I like it so much). And, my short times in the XP NG's were not a pleasant experience........they aren't THAT bad, it's just that I had already become accustomed to the great folks and 'family' warmth that is the Me NG......not to mention, this is where all the 'real gurus' hang out. I owe the vast majority of what I know about computers to this group.....in fact, I have come to the point that I no longer tie up my limited memory with the little things, knowing I can come here and reclaim anything I need. Once again, my hat if off to the wonderful MS MVP's and all those that ought to carry the title. The Me NG is the friendliest and most knowledgeable of them all!! Heirloom, old and kinda like going to the Cheers pub. "Ed Meza" wrote in message k.net... Amen to that Mart!! Spybot S&D updates???
When visiting Windows|Microsoft Update the error code 0x80070020 has
been associated with Spybot Search and Destroy's TeaTimer being Enabled. I'm not certain if this is when using V. 1.4.0.3 or the latest Beta version. Anyone else encounter this issue with TeaTimer Enabled ?
