Default Fat or fat 32 for swap file

If you use FAT32 and the partition is under 8GB in size, FDISK and many other
partitioning utilities use 4KB cluster size by default. Your partitioning software
may let you choose your cluster size.

Have a look here for some more info:

How do I set up my computer to use 4KB cluster size for the swap file
partition? Note: I used Partition Commander to partition my 12g hdd.
It was on their recommendation that I set up a seperate drive
specifically for the swap file.

Having a separate swap file on the same hard drive does little for you as
others have noted. What you should be looking at is if you have sufficient
ram installed so the swap file is not even used. Sysmon.exe can be run and
it will tell you the amount of swap file in use.
