Internet Explorer

When I try to log on to the internet I get a pop-up
message entitled "Explorer" that states the program has
performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
This locks up my computer and I have to shut it down from
the tower. I am using netzero as my internet provider. It
will almost completely load before I encounter the
problem. I had this problem when I was on AOL but it
would not lock up my computer. I have sought support from
netzero. They told me to uninstall Internet explorer and
then reinstall it. I have done this but it has not solved
the problem. Please help.
