Default NO SOUNDS

I had to have my drive reformatted after having a problem
with my computer. I now have no sound at all I don't know
how to fix this problem. Can someone help me with this?

Standard procedure is to remove then re-install the sound card drivers.

Boot to safe mode. In Control Panel / System / Device Manager delete all
sound devices listed under 'Sound, video and game controllers'. Shut down
and re-boot. Have your Windows 98 installation CD and any CDs that were
supplied with your system or your sound card ready, as Windows will
re-install the sound card drivers on re-boot.
