Default Updating Windows Me to XP

I need to update my Windows Me, but after downloading the UpgradeAdvance and
then running the program, I supposedly have very little it says is
compatible. I looked up my scanner & printer and see that they are
compatible, but now I'm having difficulty w/the Intel Direct 3D Graphic Card.
I went to the Intel site any they don't upgrade. So how can I run my
computer without a graphics cards? Plus, I don't totally understand what I
need to do. Is there someplace where I can find step-by-step instsructions
for what to do about what is and isn't compatible? What things must I back-up
and how now that the Me system no longer provides the Restore feature.
Any help would be so appreciated.

I need to update my Windows Me

Why? What problems are you having?

Any help would be so appreciated.

Posting to a newsgroup supporting XP would be a good place to start. Note
however that the requirements for running XP are much higher than those
for Win Me just as those for Win Me were higher than for Win 98/98SE.
Hardware evolves quite rapidly and it is possible that your present PC
simply isn't suitable for running XP.

I'd post to a newsgroup such as microsoft.public.windowsxp.basics and give
full details of your hardware, processor, amount of memory, video card,
hard disk size etc. and I'm sure someone will be able to give you good
advice as to how to proceed.

Thank you so much Mike for such a quick response. I'll head over to the XP
section.
