Default Windows (ME) Update

When I click on ...windows.update ... I first receive a
screen on which I can click "scan for update". The next
screen includes the statement "windows update complete 0%"
and thereafter I am left high and dry.

Help!

also........if ur using connection like a 56K modem, its
gonan be a long time......i was tehre b4....go ask it to
scan and then go eat and read a book......

after taht down all the goodies(all appliable critical
updates and anyof the other extras) and then go take a
nap....the server isnt fast....
