outlook express 6

i cannot delete messages in my inbox there are no error
messages or anything like that it just wont let me delete
messages in the in box or any folder. i run windows
millenium

I don't know why you are unable to delete unwanted messages from your
local folders but Inbox is a special folder and should be able to repaired
as follows.

First copy any messages you want to save to other folders.
With Outlook Express open, right click on Inbox in the Folders list,
select Properties and note the location of the file inbox.dbx.
Close Outlook Express.
Open Windows Explorer and browse to the folder containing inbox.dbx.
Delete inbox.dbx
Open Outlook Express. A new Inbox (inbox.dbx) will automatically be
created.
You should now be able to delete items from your Inbox as and when
required.
