Default Crashing Before Starting?

My Dad has a windows 98 setup in his office which he runs his business on.
Nothing has been done to it except i added a printer a while ago then
disconected it
And its reintsalled the printer port and everything.

What happens is it starts up normally running through the bios screens, then
when it gets to the windows 98 loading screen, it freezes and nothing at all
responds... Ive tried bootdisks and norton disks nothing reads during the
bios startup either. Does any body know what could cause this?
Big Thanks to anybody who helps out in advanced
Thanks heaps
Ice

In order to get the boot disk to run you may need to set the floppy drive
as the first boot device in the BIOS. Otherwise can you boot to Safe Mode.
To get to Safe Mode:

Boot the machine, as soon as you See the POST Press/hold down the CTRL
key or continually tap F8 until you get the Startup Menu.

Best thing to do since this is a business machine is get a new HD and
install the OS,new, on it. Up date it to run the machine. Then put the old HD
in as a slave to retrieve data. But first scan the old HD for viruses before
accessing it with the new HD/OS.

A CPU over heating would cause the PC to behave like this wouldnt it? This
thought crossed my mind right after i sent this post so i opened it and had a
look.
In actual fact its the Transformer/powerbox fan that has stopped lol. So
that must be over heating and causing an emergency shutdown.

So ill replace that and see how i go.
Thankyou very much to both of you who helped. I think i myt upgrade his
Computer anyway its getting a bit slow and tired for modern technology lol.
Thanks you guys
Ice
