None the less, I usually just sit with my temporary internet files and looking for all the address of the popups there... I notice doubleclick.net wasn't on your list but, if you are just getting windows not to resolve the DNS correctly, won't your popups filled with javascript and spam rubbish turn into popups filled with 404 errors? That list was just a sample from the top of the file, which is just over a 1000 lines long and not in any apparent order. As to 404s (or action canceled, or page not found....) that remains to be seen at this point. FACE |

You could also just try Right-Clicking (on text) and going to properties. Thanks, another way of doing it is to click on the top lefthand e of the border, choose make available offline, capture the url in the second step, and then cancel. FACE |

Well, if the HOSTS file blocks any external .js files that
create the popup up window, the original page will just get a scripting error and no popup-window. |

FACE Learn something new for my everyday ^_^ So do I. I also tried your way it, of course, worked just fine. It is sort of like having several different phillips head screwdrivers -- each one may be a little more suited to a particular job even though they all do the same thing. Last night I added the key into the registry that Sandi provided. FACE |

Nevertheless I take it you have managed to eradicate the popups using nothing but windows 98, without removing functionality from any other sites? the joys of DIY. |
