Default Best registry cleaner/fixer?

I tried one complicated registry checker (above MS) and found it deleted all
the links between images and my programs. So I restored everything.
However, this has made me gun-shy relative to cleaning up the registry.
What's the best, easiest, most reliable/dependable registry cleaner out
there, of all the possibilities?

Thanks.
