Windows 98 won't browse network
I installed a windows 98 client to my windows 2000 server.
I created a computer account called denver and a user account called domuserdenver. I have not applied policies of any kind. When I first logged on using client for microsoft windows, I seemed to be on the domanin (nwtraders)because I could type a \\server\share in run and access resources. I couldn't map a drive map a drive or see other computers or resources when I clicked on network neighborhood then clicked entire network. I get an error message. However, now that my computer has been running for several hours, I can now access my resources and see other computers as if by magic. I have only a small client server network linked by a small 100mbps hub with cat 5. Why did it take 2 hours to finally see resources on my windows 98 client. When I use xp or 2000 and configure them with proper protocols, ip address, ect. I can see resources almost immediately. Can anyone explain why 98 is so difficult to attach to a domain? Sincerely, Greg Hill Feel free to email me at |
