Hi Carole

The server is the same for all MS newsgroups using Outlook Express.
The server is msnews.microsoft.com
This should get you the

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...ic.office.misc

Thank you for your comments Alan. Appreciated & understood.
I've now found the Microsoft Office newsgroups via the web-pages but I'll be
blowed if I can find anything that tells me the name of the news-server I
need to set it up in Outlook Express. Everything seemed much more straight
forward when I found the Windows ME newsgroup. There must be a different
server name for the Office groups.
I have Office 2000.
Have disabled PCHealth files & must say that my system seems to be behaving
itself since I did that !!
I'm sure I have enough health protection via my anti-virus & firewall
software anyway.

It looks like a problem with Excel rather than Windows ME and you may
be better off at an Excel or Office group.
What version of Excel or Office have you installed?

And, as the roads go too, Mike! With the 'new' motorway (M65), it's almost
a straight line. In fact George is not that much further, maybe another 5
miles or so.

Quite a little 'Silicon Valley' - at least for suppliers, in this part of
the world g

And, as the roads go too,

My goodness. And there I was thinking it was still all sheep tracks and
