Default Adding Fonts to Win98se & Win95a

I tried to copy and install the Rockwell fonts and other fonts from my WinME
computer to my Win98se computer and also from my FrontPage 98 and Office
2000 CDs to my Win98se computer using both the Fonts applet in Control Panel
and the Add New Font in the Fonts folder in Win98se. It does not want to
work. There are no error messages. The Win98se computer just doesn't "see"
any fonts to add, whether from the CD or from any other local or network
folder. Win98se currently has 71 fonts installed, and WinMe has 200, so the
Win9x font limit of 1000 is not an issue here. The problem is something
else, but what?

The fonts copied and installed fine to my WinMe Fonts folder from both CDs,
but not to Win98se. I tried doing it directly from the CDs, through the
network from one Fonts folder to another, and by copying the WinMe fonts to
a different Win98se folder installing them from there. No luck. Win98se does
not "see" any fonts to install in any of the folders I browse to. Thinking
it may be that the Rockwell font might not be completely compatible with
Win98se (doubtful, as it came from a FrontPage 98 CD), I tried copying other
fonts, but still cannot get it to work.

Can you tell me how to get the fonts to install on Win98se? I want to
install them to my Win95a machine as well. The WinMe computer does not have
Office 2000 or FrontPage 98 currently installed, just their fonts. The
Win98se and Win95a computers both have Office 97 installed. I have not yet
tried adding new fonts to the Win95a computer.

There is no difference between Win ME and Win9x in installing True
Type fonts. If you cannot install any TT fonts on Win98 SE, then the
problem is not with the Rockwell fonts.

Try here for something you may have missed:
