safe Mode irony
I have both win98se and XP in same computer, different hard drives. I have the
dual boot menu. When I highlight win98 and then the F8 button, safe mode appears but its the one that is associated with XP. Is there a way that I can get safe mode associated with win98? |

Instead of only hilighting 98, select it and press Enter then =
immediately press F8 to get the 98 startup menu.=20 --=20 Brian A. Conflicts start where information lacks. http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Wishy13764" wrote in message = ... If I may add to Brian's suggestion:
If F8 right after the boot menu is too difficult, and you know ahead of time that you'll want Safe Mode (or can put up with *always* getting the Windows 98 Startup Menu) run MSCONFIG, click on the Advanced button, and "Enable Startup Menu". If you want to leave the Startup Menu enabled all the time, you can add a line to MSDOS.SYS to control how much time the Startup Menu waits for a response before launching the default choice: BootMenuDelay=x where x is the number of seconds. -- Gary S.
