Default Device Driver files

Hello:

I am trying to transfer my files from my old computer to a new computer. To
do so, I purchased a USB drive (Sony Micro Vault). Since I am running
Windows 98, I needed to download a driver from their web site. I did so, but
found that I can't run the driver with the device because a file (TSAD.DLL)
is missing. Can anything be done to rectify this situation? Thanks, FG

Are you running Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition. Is this a USB
1.0 or 1.1 drive or a USB 2.0 drive? USB 2.0 will only run on Windows 98
Second Edition. You cannot install USB 2.0 drivers to Windows 98 (First
Edition).

But, regardless of the above, TSAD.DLL shows up in Google searches as a
Spyware DLL associated with Timesink software. Exactly *when* do you get
this message that TSAD.DLL can't be found?

See my article Security! for more info on removing pests. See, also,
this page for manual Timesink removal instructions:

TSAD.DLL doesn't appear to be a microsoft library. Perhaps you should
redownload and try again. You say you can't run the driver?? How did you
do the install?

Go download 7zip and use it to extract the file.It apears from the other
replies and a quick google search that the file that the file your missing
is related to some psyware crap used to deliver popup adds. 7zip will
uncompress the file free and not install and spyware. plus it will give the
added bonus of creating zip files free.
