Default winxp.exe

During loading, I get a message that says "winxp has cause
an error in (unknown). Winxp will now close" I tnen
click on "close" and the system continues to load. Does
anyone have an idea of what WINXP.EXE is and what it
does? How do I get rid of this roadblock? Thanks for the
help.
