Default Anyone know how to solve Mapisp32 "illegal operation" errors?

Mapisp32.dll is used in conjunction with Outlook and I believe its
involved with performing pop3 mail retrieval.

On a very sporadic basis, my win-98 systems will pop-up this error:

===============
Mapisp32
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

Details:
MAPISP32 caused an invalid page fault in module SHLWAPI.DLL at
0187:70bf6ca1.
===============

I typically have outlook 2000 running most of the time. When this error
message pops up, and I dismiss it, outlook continues to seemingly
function normally, except that it no longer performs periodic pop3 mail
retrieval until or unless I close and re-start outlook.

The versions I have of these files a

mapisp32.exe 5.5.3121.0 17,408 bytes Jan 21/2000
SHLWAPI.DLL 6.00.2800.1106 395,264 bytes Aug 29/2002

Shlwapi.dll is described as "Shell Light-weight Utility Library". I
have disabled KernelEx extensions for it, but that doesn't seem to help.

Does anyone know what causes these mapisp32/shlwapi invalid page faults?

Need to uninstall IE6 sp1...
and reinstall it....
