Not much of an MVP. No pointer, no group name. There must be 100,000
newsgroups out there. You must think that everyone is expert at google.

BTW how did you suppress full quoting. I noticed that when i did reply that
the full text did NOT come up like it should. Oh, i see, it is down below
your sig. With a destructive sig like that you should bottom post.

I have now similar problem.
With the same Liteon.
It was working fine (write/read) but since last week I can't write any
dvd.
I can still read any. I didn't make any changes to the system ..

Hi,

My CD Writer drive recently packed up so I needed to buy
another....and with DVD Writers now being available now I thought I'd
upgrade......bad move.

There doesn't seem to be any driver available for windows98!

My drive is the SHW-160H6S-01C

The person at LiteOn Support told me it used the default windows
driver and there wasn't any dirver that came with the product.....he
was talking windows 2000 etc.

Anybody know any hacks etc to get Windows98 to recognise this DVD
writer???

Thanks in advance.

Darren

No, actually, since I post in 20-30 or so newsgroups I don't have time to
backtrack and find where I posted the reply to the OP.

If you're having the same problem why not say so instead of grumping about
my posting technique and making assumptions about my motives? I might even
answer! :-)
