install key problem?

i finally found a key that works

The only other thing I
can think of is that the product key you have is not
correct for the version
of Windows you are trying to install. Call MS and get
them to issue you a
new product key: 1 800 642-7676.

keys, none worked.
could it possibly be that i am not using a 98 boot disk
created in windows
98? or could it be that i have a burned cd?
