Is your BIOS setup to boot from the first hard drive? It sure looks like it
is not, based on your message. Did you try booting from a floppy to check to see if your hard drive was recognized? It sounds like your hard drive has been damaged or failed in some way, as the failure message does not mention it in any way. Try booting your computer with a WindowsMe (or Windows98) startup disk (download one from www.bootdisk.com if you don't have one already). Watch the screen carefully during the boot process for any error messages, and especially for any that mention anything about the hard drive, and write down the complete text of these messages. At the A:\ prompt enter the following command: DIR C: and post the results back here. Good luck Ron Martell Duncan B.C.
