Default Windows 98 SE not recognizing CD/DVD devices

I'd jus gotten a Buslink DVD-RW-R/CD-RW-R. I figured I'd
add this to my current 5-disk CD-ROM. Now for some strange
reason, regardless of how I jumper it, disconnect the
other CD-ROM or not, it doesn't recognize it.

Is there something which happened? The Buslink unit seems
to work, as it ejects CDs and the green light works. In
addition, when I boot up, it's shown as either "Master"
or "Slave" right after the memory test.

I haven't installed anything, so I'm wondering what's
happening. Thanks.
