Default Windows Update to CD

How can I download Windows ME update files to a CD to be
used in updating a PC not connected to the internet? The
PC I am trying to updated can only connect to the
internet through dial-up, and this will take forever. I
can download the files at work much faster, and would
like to burn the updates to a CD.

Thanks

The easiest way to save updates is to use the Windows Update Catalogue. This
can be done from any PC which need not be running Win Me. Select Windows
Millennium as the operating system and download and save the required updates.

To access the Windows Update Catalogue you will need to visit the
WindowsUpdate (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) site and choose in the
left hand pane to "Personalize Windows Update" and then check the box in the
right hand pane to "Display the link to the Windows Update Catalogue". Save
Settings and now click the new link to the Catalogue that has been added to
the left hand pane.

MS KB 323166 - "HOW TO: Download Windows Updates and Drivers from the
Windows Update Catalog" (http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=323166).

Alternatively you can ask Microsoft to send you a copy of the free Security
Update CD. See http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/cd/order.asp
