Default System clock

I notice my clock isn't consistent. Sometimes it keeps
good time, others it gets well behind - 15 minutes or
more. I haven't downloaded any new programs lately and
have spyware blocking programs on my systems. How can I
get the system clock to be consistent?

My guess is, you need a new battery, check it out, James.

Does it just lose time while the machine is shut off? If so, that is going
to be your CMOS battery.......check you manual or the motherboard's website
for info.
If it is losing time while the machine is running, you may have some program
eating enough cpu cycles to take away from the internal clock. If your
machine is over 3 years old, suspect the battery.
Heirloom, old and needs recharged
