Default Autolt Error

Since downloading Microsoft Critical updates my computer
has been hanging at shutdown but despite trying various
suggestions have not managed to solve this. I also
noticed that there are blank pages in Windows 98
troubleshooter. I have managed to get the troubleshooter
back by using the quick fix posted in these newsgroups,
however when I use the troubleshooter I am getting the
Autolt Error box pop up with the following message
Line 24 WinWaitClose Error: The number of parameters is
incorrect. Could this message relate to the shut down
problem and if so how can I fix it? If someone could
explain this I would be very grateful.

AutoIT is not a Windows component, it's a scripting add-on. I'd uninstall
it and see what happens to your problems then.

Default Autolt Error

I have AutoIt, and it shows up in the Control Panel applet "Add/Remove
Programs". Try removing it from there.

It's not there and a search of my C drive has come up with
0 results as well. Where do I go from here?

Default Autolt Error

Then you are running a program or script that was compliled using =
AutoIt, and it is causing the error. You don't have to have AutoIt =
installed to get an AutoIt error.

the blank pages in the troubleshooter, there are two different =
fixes, depending on the Windows updates you have installed.
The original fix for the older update was this:
First, click Start Settings Folder Options View tab, and click to =
enable "Show All Files" and click OK.
Click Start Find File or Folders, and search the C:\ drive for a file =
named Tshoot.inf...it should be found in the \Windows\Inf folder.
Right-click Tshoot.inf and click Install on the menu that appears.

If the cumulative patch for Internet Explorer (November) is installed, =
there is only a workaround.
See he
http://home.comcast.net/~bascon58/98Help.htm
and
http://mvps.org/PracticallyNerded/SoftFixes.htm

Try the workaround, and see if the AutoIt error still appears.
