Default Assigning software to open .jpegs

I downloaded Netscape 6.2 but never use it now. It takes
too long to open. All the photos on my hard drive,
however, are now assigned to Netscape, so that if I want
to see one quickly I have to open Paint then the jpeg. Is
there some way I can assign the photos to a different
software, such as QuickTime, which open faster?

install you will be asked what filename extensions you want to associate.

Well, you can get Xnview (freeware for non-commercial
purposes) http://www.xnview.com. Besides being a viewer you
can crop, resize, create web galleries, do batch renames (of
ANY file type), convert to different formats, you can even
use it to set wallpaper.

Problems or suggestions about it, no problem, the program
has under the Help section, a link to the web-based
"newsgroup" (used to be NNTP based, but the sasser worm(?)
caused them to go the web-based route :-(
