Shared Folders Passwords

Deat all
I have 2 computers one with windows 98 and the other is
windows xp, I make folder in windows 98 and put a
password for read access and full access.
when i tried to access this folder from the windows xp
computer, it prompt me to enter the password, either i
enter the read only or the full access password; the
shared folder don't open and prompt me again for password
please help
