Default Microsoft data access components KB870669

I noticed this in the list of programs I could remove from my Windows 98 PC.
However, according to

Windows 98 is not supported. Does this mean I should remove KB870669 because
its not protecting my machine? Other than switching to FireFox, how can I
protect my PC against the vulnerability in Internet Explorer?

You ARE protected. You're simply reading the wrong KB article:

Thanks. It looks like you're right. I simply used google to search for
KB870669 & read the first article listed.
